A Guide to Bali Villa Destinations

Bukit Peninsula, Bali

Bali is on the top of most traveller’s lists, mainly because it truly does cater for every type of tourist from backpackers to jet setting moguls. If you’re looking for something specific from your holiday, the chances are that Bali can offer it to you. Villas are a great form of accommodation in Bali, especially when you are traveling with a larger group or want to have a resort experience without the hustle and bustle of hotel life. From Kuta to Ubud, villas are the go-to accommodation for most visitors to Bali. Here are just some of the incredible locations you should look out for when next booking your Bali holiday.

Sanur

Sanur used to be relatively quiet compared to neighbouring Kuta, especially when tourists first started populating the island during the 60’s and 70’s. It’s now turned into a mini metropolis complete with golf course, shopping centres and just about anything you might need on a Balinese vacation. It has escaped a lot of the damage and destruction that party haven Kuta has had to suffer through so the beaches and streets are comparatively tidy. Another bonus with Sanur is that it is most popular amongst European holiday makers, instead of Kuta and Seminyak which are both dominated by Australian tourists.

Ketewel

Ketewel is a secret surfing spot just east of Sanur which has remained quaint and cultural despite its proximity to bustling Sanur and Kuta. Although it’s a popular stop for surfers it’s also renowned for its exquisite villas. With beachfront options and stunning sunsets, Ketewel is great for holidaymakers looking for some serious tranquillity and calm without compromising on location.

The Bukit Peninsula

The Bukit Peninsula was until recently mostly populated by farmers and locals. Although now it’s home to a few luxury villas and resorts, it has kept it’s small village charm and beauty. With possibly the best views in Bali this slice of cliff on the southernmost tip of Bali is for the type of traveller who doesn’t mind being a little disconnected from the rest of the island. With plenty of temples and the opportunity to see migrating whales, the Bukit Peninsula is a unique Bali destination.

Seminyak

Seminyak is by far one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bali especially for those seeking the ultimate villa experience. With literally hundreds of accommodation options, Seminyak is perfect for travellers who want everything within walking distance, it’s home to exclusive boutique retailers and is always bursting with new cafes and restaurants. Choose from resort style villas or stand – alone bungalows, there’s endless possibilities when looking for villas in Seminyak.

Pemuteran

Pemuteran isn’t your typical Bali holiday destination but that’s what makes it a perfect place to completely indulge and enjoy yourself. With only a few resorts and villas in far north Bali that offer luxury experiences the choices aren’t vast but that’s okay! It means that there isn’t row after row of identical buildings, instead there are boutique villas overlooking the Balinese jungle, it’s for the type of traveller wishing to escape mundane life and experience something uniquely Balinese.
